1. Widow's Bay Ep. 8
88/100 – Apple TV+ – Next Ep. May 10 – 9 PM*
Widow’s Bay continues to get better and better this time showing the connection between father and daughter to be much stronger and more impactful to the story than once thought, while a Michael Myers look alike chases Patricia across the town in a creepy and horrific yet fun and entertaining type of episode that blends the eerie with the unique like the how has consistently done so well. It’s safe to say this is the best show on television currently and apple tv + has a chokehold on the TV world right now with two episodes left in a plot that is far from complete.
2. One Piece Ep. 1165
85/100 – Crunchyroll – Next Ep. June 14 – 7:15 AM*
The new episode of One Piece introduces two of the most important and anticipated characters of the arc as two of the holy knights mysteriously arrive on Elbaph to try and find Loki and the straw hats, tapping into one of the first big antagonist moments of the arc. While things are just getting started and the episode is a little bit of a step back compared to the last few weeks , it still remains to the same standard of animation and fun that every one piece episode is known for and thus sits high on our list yet again.
3. Witch Hat Atelier Ep. 10
84/100 – Crunchyroll – Next Ep. June 8 – 7 AM*
As Tartah and Qifrey await the health of Coco, Qifrey is pulled away by the town to help leave the two kids together able to bond in the hospital together as Tartah is able to nurse Coco back to health. It is more of a breath-taking episode than some of the more recent releases but not for long as the mystery behind Qifrey continues to grow and a new figure is introduced to the forbidden magic user antagonists. Witch Hat Atelier continues to impress and with the end of the first season coming it has solidified itself as the best current running anime new release of the year.
4. The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4 Ep. 1 -3
83.0/100 – Prime Video – Next Ep. June 10 – 12 AM*
After a quite satisfying end to season 3 that ends in Vox Machina going their separate ways after the saving the reals yet again, we return to see what the group is up to in their pairings in the aftermath, soon to be thrown back together after a massacre occurs at Keyleth’s promotion ceremony revealing a new bad and an intriguing new premise for another season of the show. Vox Machina has consistently been one of the most underrated shows of all time and with the 3 episodes that drop to the start of season 4 it is clear the quality has not dropped a bit.
5. Wistoria Wand & Sword Season 2 Ep. 9
83/100 – Crunchyroll – Next Ep. June 14 – 12:30 AM*
Episode 9 of the second season of Wistoria pits Will up against his memories in a dream sequence that lasts 6 days with Elfie that shows the two when they are younger. Will learns of the source of his power before the second bloom looking to turn the season over from the events of the first 8 episodes to the final stretch that seemingly will be a second climax for the series. The animation is a little different in this episode but in a good way having a much lighter background and its really great concept for a solo episode.
6. Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed Ep. 4
83/100 – Apple TV + – Next Ep. June 10 – 9:00 PM*
Episode four of Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed furthers the plot of Paula both being chased and determined to find the killer and stalker of her own, but mainly focuses on a flashback of a past accident in her life meanwhile showing the rift that began to form between her and her ex husband who is trying to take their daughter away. Now the episode doesn’t blow it out of the water by any means but it is as necessary as it gets for the backstory of our main character who has become lovable and flawed from the start and proves that the show is here to stay at the top of our rankings for weeks to come.
7. On The Roam Season 2 Ep. 4
83/100 – HBO MAX – Next Ep. June 11 – 9 PM*
On the Roam season 2 continues to be one of the easiest, most interesting, and best watches of the week as we see Momoa meet with some buddies who have revolutionized the use of electric engines in older vehicles to make their life last and their sound quieter. While episode 4 did not shine like episode 3 did it was yet again a really solid entry in the show with that gritty, hopeful, inspired, antique feel of a reality show that comes off with great concepts for every new episode.
8. Your Friends & Neighbors Season 2 Ep.10
82/100 – Apple TV+ – Season Complete
The finale of Your Friends and Neighbor Season 2 is jam packed with the aftermath of Ashe’s death and the three main guys covering it up to protect themselves and their futures. Season 2 as a whole felt very strung out with many episodes feeling way to slow and not moving the plot forward but the back three episodes including this finale really did a great job wrapping up the storyline of season 2 while setting up a much bigger threat and plot for each of the main characters in the show for a season 3 that is likely to be much more stressful and intriguing. The end product here and the last thirty minutes of this episode left a lot to be desired and makes this second season a step down from the first and lower on the list of a giantly successful current apple tv slate.
9. Dr. Stone Season 4 Ep. 34
80/100 –Crunchyroll – Next Ep. June 11 – 6 AM*
We are finally off to the moon in a culmination episode that shines as Dr.Stone’s best episode of the season so far. The uncertainty of the mass they have discovered on the moon is soon to be revealed and the type show that really made Dr. Stone so successful seems to be returning slowly. While we still sit with some hesitancy for this slice of life anime, episode 34 of the Science Future Arc was a step in the right direction for the climax of the season.
10. Not Suitable For Work Ep. 1 - 3
79/100 – Hulu – Next Ep. June 9 - 3 AM
Not Suitable for Work is the new post college young adult comedy from hulu set in new york with a cast full of younger comedians and faces that are familiar but new to the spotlight. While the first three episodes don’t necessarily prove this show is a massive success with some cheap writing and acting here and there, it is quite funny, the plotlines are quite intriguing, and there is an undeniable sense of charm that makes us at the TwilightRoom excited for the next episodes, while Not Suitable for Work doesn’t sit high up on our list yet, it certainly has the opportunity to be great access once it finds its footing in its charming cast.
11. Cape Fear Ep. 1 & 2
79/100 – Apple TV + - Next Ep. June 12 - 9 PM
The first two episodes of the new Apple TV remake of Cape Fer are serviceable and eniugh to pull in the audiences it had attracted before the show aired, but lack that impact key writing elements or realy acting performances aside from Bardem to really male the show feel like it is up to par with some of the other shows releasing on the streaming service currently. As we start to learn more about is Max was actually guilty and what our two main characters exactly did when he was incarcerated, the intrigue is there but the quality still needs to take a step up still.
12. Love Island USA Season 8 Ep. 1 - 5
79/100 – Peacock – Next Ep. June 8 - 6PM
Season 8 of USA’s rendition of Love Island has finally returned and now as quite possibly the most popular reality dating series in the world, comes with a level of intrigue and entertainment that is second to none in its niche. Millions of people flock to talk about the contestants every night and for better or for worse it is clear that the fanbase is as dedicated as it gets. Love Island will likely never top our tv weekly lists in its summer run time but it will surely be an absolute entertainment mainstay for the next month.
13. That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 4 Ep. 9
79/100 – Crunchyroll – Next Ep. June 12 – 7 AM*
The expedition begins with Rimuru at the forefront mostly focusing on how to get through a magic door way locked behind magic circles, it’s one of the better episodes in that it is a more condensed cast of characters and a more centralized plot helping to elevate the show up a bit than many of the lackluster first eight episodes of the season. Reincarnated as a Slime is finally finding a slightly better plot and providing some intrigue, but not enough to move it from the bottom of our weekly list.
14. Star City Ep. 3
78/100 –Apple TV + – Next Ep. June 12 - 9PM
Star City continues to be this complex space race russian cold war time drama that really takes pride in its ability to tell a tinted camera view, complex and adult show which at times works very well, howveer to start of the series this first few episodes including episode 3 come off a little too dense to pull in any full intrigue from its audiences. There is still so much interesting history and storyline to tell here so in future episodes this style may become more effective but for now Star City Episode 3 sits again at the bottom of our weekly ratings.
